Job summary

Aprio, a nationally recognized professional services firm, seeks a Senior Tax Manager, Private Client to lead sophisticated tax compliance and advisory engagements for high-net-worth individuals, families, trusts, partnerships, and related entities.

You will be the primary client relationship owner, delivering technically precise planning and compliance services while driving engagement quality, profitability, and team development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or related field required.
• CPA license required; JD/LLM may be considered depending on scope.
• 7+ years progressive tax experience in a public accounting or professional services setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex federal, state, and local tax compliance engagements for individuals, trusts, partnerships, and S corporations.
• Review complex tax returns, workpapers, estimates, extensions, and filings for accuracy and timeliness.
• Research and interpret tax laws, prepare memoranda, and communicate findings to clients and stakeholders.
• Provide proactive tax planning and advisory services to optimize taxpayer outcomes and mitigate risk.
• Serve as primary client contact for engagements, building strong relationships and ensuring high-quality service.
• Manage engagement budgets, timelines, staffing, billing, realization, and profitability.
• Supervise, train, and mentor tax professionals; provide coaching and performance feedback.
• Collaborate with partners on client strategy and growth opportunities.
• Support tax notices, examinations, and controversy matters with authorities.
