Aprio is seeking a technically strong Tax Manager focused on Individual Tax to join a Top 20 CPA and advisory firm with extensive U.S. offices. The role drives tax planning, client consulting, and engagement leadership for individuals, simple trusts, and small businesses.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in individual tax, CPA preferred; EA considered, and a strong track record in client relationships and tax strategy. Hybrid work options are available within a forward-looking firm culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in individual tax, trusts, and small business returns.
• CPA preferred; EA considered.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build trust with clients.
• Proficiency in tax software and technology platforms.

Responsibilities

• Tax Review & Compliance: Review complex individual tax returns (Form 1040), simple trusts (1041), and simple business returns (1045, 1120S).
• Client Planning & Consulting: Lead tax planning engagements for individuals and small business owners.
• Engagement Management: Manage multiple client relationships and engagements; monitor deadlines and budgets.
• Leadership & Development: Coach junior staff and contribute to internal training; support 1040 Transformation initiatives.
