Job summary

CareerNerds, LLC is seeking a Senior Tax Manager in the East Valley/Tempe area to lead a small tax team within a growing CPA firm. You will supervise, mentor, review and sign federal and multi-state returns for C corporations, S corporations, partnerships, trusts, individuals and tax-exempt entities, reporting to Tax Partners and Senior Managers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
• CPA designation required.
• 10+ years of tax experience in public accounting, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Direct responsibility for reviewing and signing federal and multi-state tax returns.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with a passion for developing others.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including direct client communications.
• Experience with CCH Axcess and ProSystems Engagement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor a small tax team.
• Review and sign federal and multi-state tax returns for various entity types (C corp, S corp, partnerships, trusts, individuals, tax-exempt).
• Report to Tax Partners & Senior Managers and collaborate closely with them.
• Support client service and develop team capabilities towardPartner-level growth.
