Chawla & Chawla PC in Gaithersburg, MD seeks a Senior Tax Manager with 8+ years in public accounting to own client relationships and lead a team in complex returns.

You will review and sign-off on federal/state returns, manage staff, and drive tax planning, compliance, and automation initiatives within a growing practice. This is an in-office, full-time role with strong growth potential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of tax experience earned in public accounting.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• At least three years in a review or supervisory capacity.
• Experience with individual and business tax, including pass-throughs and multi-state.
• Strong foundation in U.S. tax compliance and GAAP; capable of forming defensible positions.

Responsibilities

• Own a portfolio of clients as the primary day-to-day relationship manager.
• Serve as technical reviewer and final sign-off on federal and state returns (1040, 1120, 1120-S, 1065, 1041, 990).
• Supervise, review, and develop Managers, Seniors, and staff with feedback and standards.
• Lead IRS and state controversy matters from notices to resolution.
• Identify tax planning opportunities and deliver proactive advisory work.
