Job summary

Essenti Talent in Columbus, Ohio is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to lead tax engagements for a diverse client base, delivering compliance, planning, and advisory services with a client-centric focus.

You will oversee federal, state, and local returns, mentor Managers and staff, cultivate executive relationships, and drive growth through strategic business development and high-quality client service.

Qualifications

• CPA license is mandatory.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive tax experience in a public accounting environment.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor staff and manage client relationships.
• Strong communication, analytical and project management skills.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance and planning.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive tax compliance, planning, and advisory services for a varied client portfolio.
• Oversee and review complex federal, state, and local income tax returns and workpapers.
• Act as a strategic advisor, deeply understanding client business objectives and offering tailored solutions.
• Mentor and develop Managers, Seniors, and Staff Accountants, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
• Drive sustainable firm growth through proactive client service and strategic guidance.
• Contribute to business development through networking, proposal support, and identifying new service opportunities.
