Job summary

Solid Rock Recruiting, LLC. is partnering with an established public accounting firm in the western Chicago suburbs to hire a Tax Manager with a strong background in high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and complex tax planning.

The ideal candidate will bring experience with trusts, partnerships, and international taxation, and will manage complex returns while mentoring junior staff. CPA preferred, with proven ability to build long-term client relationships in a private-client setting.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant tax experience, preferably in public accounting.
• Experience with high-net-worth individuals and complex individual tax returns.
• Family office or private-client services experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with individual, partnership, and trust taxation.
• Exposure to international taxation, cross-border issues, or foreign reporting preferred.
• Experience managing client engagements and reviewing tax returns.
• Strong technical tax knowledge and communication skills.
• CPA designation preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a client-focused public accounting environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and review complex individual, trust, and partnership tax returns.
• Provide tax planning and advisory services to high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners.
• Work with clients who have complex investment portfolios, ownership structures, and tax considerations.
• Handle sophisticated tax compliance and planning engagements.
• Assist clients with international tax matters and foreign reporting requirements when applicable.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Review work prepared by tax associates and senior staff.
• Mentor and develop junior tax professionals.
• Collaborate with firm leadership on complex tax matters and strategic planning opportunities.
