Job summary

KLR is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to join our High Net Worth practice in Boston, Providence, or Newport on a flexible hybrid basis. Qualified remote candidates will also be considered.

You will manage the tax planning and advisory services for high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and estates, while growing the local practice and mentoring staff. Experience in public accounting, CPA/EA/JD certification, and strong communication skills are required to drive client relationships and deliver

Qualifications

• 8+ years of technical tax experience in public accounting, with 3+ years in a managerial role.
• CPA, EA or JD certification is required.
• Strong experience with individual taxation (high net worth).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to manage multiple high-level engagements and translate complex data for clients.

Responsibilities

• Technical planning and advising for high-net-worth individuals and trusts/estates.
• Serve as trusted advisor and role model across teams.
• Ensure timely filing of all client tax returns and documents.
• Manage engagements with supervision and timely billing.
• Oversee complex estate, gift, and fiduciary tax returns (Forms 706, 709, 1041).
• Develop client relationships and generate new business opportunities.
• Respond to tax notices and represent clients in audits.
• Coach and develop a high-performing tax team.
