Citrin Cooperman is seeking an experienced tax professional to join our New Jersey practice. You will review and prepare federal and state individual and fiduciary returns, and advise on planning and compliance for a diverse client base, including hedge funds and private equity entities.

The role emphasizes strong client service, mentoring junior staff, and coordinating with partners to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• Masters in Taxation preferred.
• CPA preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive public accounting experience.
• Knowledge of hedge fund and private equity K1s.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Capable of managing multiple client engagements.
• Track record of building and sustaining client relationships and high-quality client service.
• Outstanding analytical, organizational and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Review of tax returns, income tax projections and tax workpapers, including federal and state individual and fiduciary tax returns.
• Possess strong technical skills in individual and fiduciary income tax, with working knowledge in partnerships and S‑corporations.
• Provide effective consulting, planning and compliance for clients.
• Oversee and manage day-to-day needs of clients and tax return process including issue resolution.
• Perform tax research to resolve issues.
• Maintain strong relationships with proactive client service.
• Coordinate with Partner and staff for timely and effective project planning.
• Coach and mentor staff to support growth of the tax practice.
• Maintain knowledge of new tax issues and general business trends impacting clients.
