Job summary

BDO USA is seeking a Tax Manager in the Alternative Investments practice to provide tax compliance and consulting services for Venture Capital, Private Equity, Hedge Funds, and Real Estate clients in a Maryland-based role.

The position requires a CPA or equivalent, six+ years of tax experience, and supervisory capability. Maryland-specific salary ranges are provided, and the firm emphasizes client service, collaboration, and leadership within projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; major in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics, preferred
• Master’s in Accountancy or Taxation, preferred
• CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction), or EA required
• Six (6) or more years of prior relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting or consulting/professional services experience, required
• Prior supervisory experience, required
• Experience with Financial Services industry supporting Alternative Investment funds including Venture Capital, Private Equity, Real Estate, and Hedge Funds, preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide tax compliance services for Alternative Investments clients (VC, PE, hedge funds, real estate)
• Assist with tax consulting strategies and planning
• Supervise Tax Seniors and Associates on engagements
• Lead complex engagements and manage budgeting and billing
• Build and maintain client relationships and ensure proper documentation of work
