Job summary

Mathieson, Moyski, Austin & Co. LLP in Lisle, IL seeks an experienced Senior Tax Manager to own complex tax engagements for diverse clients, including international matters. You will mentor staff, develop client relationships, and collaborate with Partners on tax planning and firm initiatives.

The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge in federal, state, local, and international taxation, with proven leadership and advisory capabilities for high-net-worth clients.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressive public accounting tax experience.
  • Significant experience reviewing complex business and individual tax returns.
  • Demonstrated foreign and international tax experience is required.
  • Experience managing complex engagements and serving as a primary client contact.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and review complex federal, state, local, and international tax engagements for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, trusts, and high-net-worth clients.
  • Work with clients that have foreign and international tax reporting requirements.
  • Review complex tax returns and related workpapers for accuracy, technical compliance, and planning opportunities.
  • Research and provide guidance on complex domestic and international tax matters.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing proactive tax planning and identifying opportunities beyond tax compliance.
  • Manage multiple client engagements, deadlines, budgets, and expectations.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships.
  • Mentor, develop, and provide technical guidance to tax staff, seniors, and managers.
  • Work closely with Partners on complex client matters, tax planning, and firm initiatives.
  • Assist with identifying opportunities to expand client relationships and grow the firm's tax practice.
  • Stay current on changes in federal, state, local, and international tax laws and regulations.

What We're Looking For
