Our client, a CPA firm backed by a large Chicago-based organization, seeks a Senior Tax Manager to lead tax operations across two Jacksonville offices. This role offers a fast track to Principal and a blend of local, close-knit culture with the resources of a larger organization.

The Senior Tax Manager will oversee multiple reports, handle complex tax engagements, and provide strategic planning and advisory services, while strengthening client relationships and contributing to practice growth.

Qualifications

• CPA or EA required and current license.
• Strong public accounting tax experience.
• Previous supervisory or management experience required.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state taxation, compliance, and tax planning.
• Experience reviewing complex business and individual tax returns.
• Strong client management and advisory skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction for tax operations across two Jacksonville office locations.
• Manage, mentor, and develop multiple tax professionals while overseeing workload and resource allocation.
• Review complex federal, state, and local tax returns for businesses and individuals.
• Develop proactive tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities and optimize client tax positions.
• Advise clients on complex transactions, business changes, and evolving tax regulations.
• Manage tax audits and controversies and communicate with the IRS and state taxing authorities.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships while identifying opportunities to expand services.
• Partner with firm leadership on strategic initiatives and continued growth of the Jacksonville practice.
