Role Description

This is a full-time Senior Tax Manager role based in the Greater Houston area with a hybrid work arrangement, combining in‑office collaboration with the option to work from home part of the time. The Senior Tax Manager will oversee tax planning, compliance, and preparation for a diverse portfolio of clients, including individuals, partnerships, corporations, and multi-state entities. Responsibilities include reviewing complex tax returns, researching and interpreting tax law, and providing strategic tax advice to optimize clients’ tax positions while managing risk. The role will lead and mentor tax staff, manage project timelines, and ensure quality control over all deliverables. The Senior Tax Manager will also collaborate with partners on business development initiatives, assist with proposals, and support client relationship management and practice growth.

Qualifications
  • Strong technical tax expertise, including Tax Planning and Tax Compliance, with the ability to provide strategic guidance to clients.
  • Hands‑on experience in Tax Preparation, including reviewing complex individual, corporate, partnership, and multi-state tax returns.
  • In‑depth knowledge of Tax Law and applicable regulations, with the ability to perform research, interpret guidance, and document positions clearly.
  • Broad understanding of Tax concepts and their impact on financial statements, business structures, and transactions.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required; a master’s degree in Taxation, Accounting, or a related field is strongly preferred.
  • Several years of progressive public accounting tax experience, including prior supervisory or managerial responsibilities.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop tax professionals while managing multiple engagements and deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with a commitment to ethical, client‑centered service.
  • Proficiency with tax preparation and research software, as well as Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment and collaborate with cross‑functional teams and diverse clients.
