Job summary

gategroup seeks a seasoned Director of Tax to lead US & Canadian tax strategy, compliance, and planning. You will oversee tax accounting, audits, and advisory work for cross-border operations, advancing accurate filings and defensible positions.

Reporting to the Director, Corporate Controller, you will mentor a small team, manage external consultants, and drive proactive tax planning while ensuring IAS 12 compliance and timely tax returns across jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting required.
• Master’s Degree in taxation or advanced Degree required.
• Minimum of 12 years of corporate tax experience required.
• Minimum of 8 years of supervisory and management experience required.
• 8-12 years managerial experience relating to US and Canadian tax issues and audits.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership on all aspects of income tax accounting for US and Canada.
• Maintain internal communication with Accounting and Global Tax groups.
• Manage tax compliance including all federal/state returns and sales tax filings.
• Supervise and mentor tax department and external consultants.
• Proactive tax planning for utilization of tax loss carryforward.
