Dow seeks an Expert Tax Counsel to join its Tax Department, providing expert guidance on tax planning, M&A, and controversy across U.S. jurisdictions. You will partner with Legal, M&A, and Finance to align tax strategy with business goals and ensure compliance across complex transactions.

Locations include Midland, MI or Houston, TX, with virtual options for the Chicago or Detroit areas. The role offers growth in a global, matrixed organization and exposure to diverse tax issues and incentives.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Master of Laws required.
• US bar admission or eligibility required.
• Minimum of 5 years of substantive tax legal experience.
• US work authorization required; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• M&A and tax planning advisory for restructurings and deals.
• Lead audit defense and tax controversy across multiple tax types.
• Review tax provisions in commercial contracts and intercompany agreements.
• Conduct legal tax research and prepare technical memoranda.
• Identify and document federal/state/local tax credits and incentives.
• Collaborate with Tax Operations, Accounting, Legal, and M&A teams.
