Job summary

Trout CPA is seeking a Senior Associate in its Tax department to take greater ownership of tax engagements and continue building technical expertise. You will prepare and review complex returns, identify planning opportunities, support client relationships, and guide Associates through the preparation process.

You will manage engagements, research issues, and help reduce clients’ tax liabilities while collaborating with team members.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Accounting is required.
Three to five years of strong tax preparation experience, preferably with a CPA firm.
CPA license or actively pursuing licensure.
Strong analytical, communication, and project management abilities.
Experience with CCH Axcess or comparable tax software is a plus; advanced Excel and MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review complex individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns.
Manage tax engagements and ensure accurate, timely client deliverables.
Research tax issues and identify opportunities to reduce clients’ tax liabilities.
Assist with tax planning, consulting, and tax provision work.
Review the work of Associates and provide guidance and feedback.
Communicate with clients and team members regarding tax matters and engagement expectations.
