Job summary

Melby & Associates PA is seeking a knowledgeable Tax Professional to join our growing Florida-based practice. You will prepare client tax filings, advise on strategies to maximize savings, and meet deadlines with support from senior leadership.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and proficient with federal/state tax laws and tax software, including Thomson Reuters UltraTax and related tools. This role offers growth opportunities and a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting.
• Valid PTIN required for tax filing.
• CPA or EA certification is a plus.
• Experience with tax preparation for individuals and businesses preferred.
• Knowledge of federal and state tax laws.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial meetings with potential clients to discuss services and cost estimates
• Educate clients on the tax submission process
• Analyze income statements and prior tax returns to determine taxable income
• Provide guidance on minimizing tax obligations
• Prepare and file taxes accurately and timely
• Collaborate with partners and staff to meet filing deadlines
• Maintain organized workpapers and documentation
• Communicate with tax authorities when necessary
