Job summary

Our client, a leading Illinois public accounting firm in the Chicago area, is seeking a Senior Tax Associate to join the growing Tax team. You will work closely with tax managers and firm leadership to deliver comprehensive tax services and support engagements.

The role offers exposure to a diverse client base and a collaborative culture focused on client service and technical excellence. CPA eligibility is required with 3+ years of public accounting tax experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s or advanced degree desired.
• CPA eligibility required, CPA desired.
• 3+ years of tax experience within a public accounting firm.
• Experience with privately held businesses and individual clients preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and priorities during busy season.
• Proficiency with tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns.
• Work with tax managers and firm leadership to serve clients and support engagements.
• Assist with tax planning, research, and compliance projects.
• Manage multiple client engagements and meet deadlines; communicate with clients to gather information.
• Build trusted relationships with clients and teammates.
• Support and mentor junior team members when needed.
