Job summary

Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. seeks a Senior Tax Analyst at our Corporate Office in Raleigh, NC to support federal, state and local tax compliance, reporting, and process improvements.

You will prepare and review returns, perform tax research, and assist with tax provision processes and technology upgrades. Qualified candidates have a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, 5+ years of tax experience, and strong Excel and communication skills; CPA preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 5+ years of corporate tax and/or public accounting tax experience.
• Solid understanding of federal and state income tax compliance.
• Strong tax research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and complex spreadsheet functions.
• Experience with tax compliance software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review federal, state, and local income and franchise tax returns, extensions, estimated tax payments, and supporting workpapers.
• Compile data and perform technical analysis, calculations, and reconciliations for tax compliance and reporting.
• Review tax returns and workpapers prepared by internal staff or external providers.
• Maintain and monitor the tax compliance calendar for timely filing and payments.
• Prepare responses to notices, inquiries, and examinations from taxing authorities.
• Analyze data to support audits at federal, state, and local levels.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders and external advisors.
• Participate in special projects, acquisitions and integrations and other initiatives.
