What will you contribute?

Finastra is currently seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to join our team. The role requires a highly technical and driven experienced tax professional to primarily support the US and Canadian tax compliance and income tax accounting for a complex multi-national organization. This position reports to the Tax Director of Global Tax Reporting.

Your deliverables will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Calculate tax provisions and prepare end-to-end tax compliance activities for the complex group of entities in the US and Canada, including reserves, VAs, s.163j, BEAT, FDII, and all tax accounting issues.
  2. Manage the timely and controlled preparation of tax returns for all Finastra’s consolidated US federal, state, and local returns and Canadian entities.
  3. Drive development and continuous improvement in tax policies, processes, and systems for tax reporting across the region, including tax information reporting.
  4. Meet performance metrics to ensure governance and efficiencies in tax reporting and compliance, including data analytics and cash tax forecasting improvements.
  5. Handle inquiries with IRS, state authorities, and CRA, collaborating with team members to resolve issues effectively.
  6. Address other tax areas and participate in cross-functional projects as required.

Required Experience:

  • CPA/chartered accountant or chartered tax advisor
  • Experience calculating tax provisions and preparing tax compliance for US consolidated groups; Canadian tax expertise preferred.
  • Willingness to handle various tax areas.
  • Strong ASC740 technical tax accounting experience.
  • Excellent communication skills with stakeholders and ability to lead cross-functional transformations.
  • Strong writing, analytical, and presentation skills, with creativity in presentation materials.
  • Advanced Excel skills and understanding of end-to-end tax processes and systems.
