Senior Tax Advisor - Enrolled Agent
Job Description
Location: Fully Remote (U.S.)
Compensation: $50–$80/hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Part-Time to Full-Time
Contract: 1099 Independent Contractor
We are a modern tax and financial advisory firm for entrepreneurs and owner-operated businesses, and we're looking for an Enrolled Agent who is exceptionally strong with people, strategy and communication.
This is not a tax-preparation role. You will own a portfolio of entrepreneur relationships and lead recurring tax-planning conversations. Your job is to understand each client's business, financial position and goals; identify planning opportunities and risks; explain recommendations clearly; and make sure those recommendations move into our technical and implementation systems.
You'll work alongside our Senior Tax Manager, accounting team, customer-success team and operations team. You do not need to personally execute every strategy or research every technical edge case. You do need enough tax knowledge to recognize opportunities, ask the right questions, communicate confidently with business owners, and know when something should be escalated for technical review.
This is not a traditional public‑accounting manager position. You will not spend most of your time:
The infrastructure exists around you so you can spend the majority of your time doing what you do best: advising clients.
In many tax firms, the strongest tax professionals end up as managers who spend their time reviewing returns, managing deadlines and supervising production. This role is different: your main product is the quality of your advice and the quality of the client relationship.
If you love tax strategy but don't want to spend the rest of your career buried in tax‑return production, this role may be a strong fit.
We care less about hiring the most credentialed person in the applicant pool and more about finding someone with the tax foundation, communication skills, judgment and personality to become an exceptional long‑term advisor to our clients.
