Job summary

Purvis Gray is seeking a skilled Tax Senior to join our Business Tax Services team in Florida. You will work on complex tax engagements for privately held businesses, entrepreneurs, and high-net-worth individuals, contributing to both compliance and advisory work.

You’ll support Managers and Partners in leading client relationships, mentoring junior staff, and maintaining current knowledge of tax laws. The role offers growth within a respected public accounting firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required; advanced degrees are a plus.
• Minimum 5+ years of public accounting tax experience.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and partnership/corporate tax regulations.
• Ability to manage deadlines, multitask, and deliver high-quality work.
• Experience preparing or reviewing Forms 1065 and/or 1120.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and research skills.
• Exposure to private company tax compliance and consulting.
• Familiarity with tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assist Managers and Partners in planning, executing, and finalizing tax engagements.
• Prepare and review individuals (Form 1040 and 1041), Exempt Orgs (Form 990) partnerships (Form 1065), and corporations (Form 1120 and 1120-S).
• Contribute to tax research and identify planning opportunities.
• Perform tax compliance work with attention to accuracy and timeliness.
• Communicate with clients and help manage engagement expectations.
• Support the training, supervision, and development of junior staff.
• Maintain current knowledge of tax laws and regulations relevant to assigned industries.
