H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a year-round Block Advisor Tax Advisor to prepare accurate returns for individuals and businesses and provide personalized tax guidance in person at a local Block Advisors office.

You will interview clients, uncover savings opportunities, and build lasting relationships while receiving strong training and competitive pay. The role emphasizes client-focused service and ongoing education.

Qualifications

• Successfully completed the HR Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience handling complex individual and business returns, including planning.
• Experience in client-facing, consultative, or advisory roles.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to explain tax concepts clearly.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for diverse and complex situations.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand finances and implications.
• Build year-round client relationships and identify tax savings opportunities.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team and contribute to a positive, client-focused office.
