Search Services, a well respected Downtown Houston financial services firm, is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant/General Accountant to join a close-knit team. The role offers varied work from tax and bookkeeping to payroll for investment clients, with a friendly, 40-hour work week.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in Tax and Bookkeeping at a CPA firm, strong QuickBooks/Excel/Word skills, and CPA progress or certification.

Qualifikationen

• 4 year accounting degree strongly preferred.
• CPA desired or progress toward certification.
• Strong experience in QuickBooks, Excel and Word.
• 3+ years experience in Tax and Bookkeeping in a CPA firm.

Aufgaben

• Accumulate information to generate tax basis records for clients including individuals, estates, trusts, corporations, foundations and partnerships.
• Generate and maintain tax basis general ledgers and financial statements as needed.
• Reconcile discrepancies between outside and internal reports to properly record information.
• Prepare financial reports, budgets, and schedules as requested.
• Maintain the client bill pay function: schedule, collect bills, review for accuracy, vendor communication, processing and reporting.
• Experience in bill pay systems is helpful, not required.
• Maintain capital asset files, including rolling forward cost basis and accumulated depreciation for various entities.
• Prepare lists detailing capital asset additions and deletions for tax returns.
