Job summary

VWC CPA Firm seeks a Senior Tax Accountant to prepare complex tax returns for individuals, trusts, estates, corporations, and partnerships, with supervision from firm leadership. You will identify planning opportunities and deliver exceptional client service while maintaining confidentiality.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in public accounting, strong tax knowledge, and proficiency in MS Office. Occasional travel is required, with travel costs covered for remote employees.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Accounting, Business or related field.
• Two years of public accounting experience.
• Adept knowledge of accounting and taxation principles.
• Detail oriented with deadlines-driven work.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Self-starter, organized, and detail oriented.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Team player who collaborates with others.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Independently prepare complex tax returns including personal, trust, estate, gift, corporate, partnership, and S-Corp returns with minimal errors for review.
• Prepare amended returns, complete tax projections, correspond with Federal and state notices.
• Evaluate client work for opportunities and areas for improvement.
• Comply with Federal, state, and local statutes and regulations.
• Keep client information confidential.
• Foster positive relationships with clients.
• Ensure that business licenses are renewed and paid on time.
• Foster positive communications and working relationships with team members and clients.
• Work closely with the manager/partners.
• Keep up to date on industry trends, professional readings, and laws as well as professional standards.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Actively participate in and conduct meetings as requested.
• Other duties as assigned.
