Job summary

Heartline Staffing is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant for a full-time hybrid role in Waverly, Iowa. You will lead the preparation and review of complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, C-Corporations, S-Corporations, and partnerships, while delivering proactive tax planning and client advisory services.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in public accounting, strong research skills, and proficiency with UltraTax or CCH.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive public-accounting experience.
• Significant experience with corporate, partnership, and individual taxation.
• Experience preparing/reviewing complex federal and state tax returns.
• Strong understanding of tax compliance, planning, and technical research.
• Experience with UltraTax or CCH or comparable platforms.
• Ability to work in the Waverly office at least 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of complex federal and state tax returns.
• Prepare and review returns for individuals, C-Corporations, S-Corporations, and Partnerships.
• Provide proactive tax planning based on clients' financial circumstances and goals.
• Apply current federal and Iowa tax requirements to client engagements.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to business and individual clients.
• Conduct research on complex tax matters and stay updated on legislation.
• Mentor junior staff and support professional development.
