Job summary

Kemper CPA Group LLP in Merced, California is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join our tax practice. This advanced, non-management role requires three to five years of tax experience in a public accounting environment and client-facing interaction across engagements.

Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing federal, state, local, and special tax returns, ensuring timely reporting, and contributing to staff development while maintaining professional standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 3–5 years public accounting tax experience required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with clients and staff.
• Strong technical tax knowledge and ability to stay current on tax regulations.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks under time constraints and meet deadlines.
• Proactive ownership of work and commitment to accuracy and detail.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Prepare moderately complex federal, state, local and special tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, and estates.
• Ensure compliance with tax laws and communicate with partners, staff and clients.
• Prepare and/or review financial statements, reports, and records.
• Maintain professional standards through ongoing education and networking.
• Support staff development and client relationship management.
