Job summary

LHH is partnering with a rapidly growing global infrastructure company to recruit a Senior Tax Accountant for its corporate tax team in Washington. The role offers broad exposure to domestic and international tax matters, including compliance, income tax reporting, tax accounting, and strategic initiatives.

You will collaborate with tax leadership, external advisors, and cross-functional partners to deepen technical knowledge while supporting multinational operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • CPA license or active progress toward CPA preferred.
  • 3–5 years of corporate income tax experience in public accounting, industry, or both.
  • Exposure to ASC 740 and income tax accounting concepts incl. deferred taxes and tax provisions.
  • Experience supporting U.S. federal and state income tax compliance activities.
  • Advanced Excel capabilities and strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support worldwide income tax compliance activities across U.S. federal, state, and international jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors to facilitate timely preparation and filing of income tax returns, extensions, and related filings.
  • Prepare and review tax workpapers supporting income tax returns, quarterly estimates, and various compliance obligations.
  • Assist with quarterly and annual ASC 740 income tax provision calculations, including deferred taxes, ETR analysis, and related financial statement disclosures.
  • Prepare and maintain income tax account reconciliations, researching and resolving outstanding items as needed.
  • Support estimated tax payment calculations and reporting requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Assist in managing tax audits, notices, and information requests from taxing authorities.
  • Research tax legislation and emerging tax developments, providing analysis and recommendations to the broader tax team.
  • Partner with Accounting, FP&A, Legal, and international business teams to gather and analyze information supporting tax compliance and reporting.
  • Support international tax reporting processes.
  • Participate in tax planning initiatives, acquisitions, business projects, and process improvement efforts.
  • Help identify opportunities for automation, workflow enhancements, and improved tax reporting processes.
