As our founding tax expert, you will move beyond compliance to architect the firm's integrated tax planning and preparation capability. You will be the strategic partner to our founder, Billy Voyles—a former executive coach to the nation’s top financial advisors—who will personally mentor you on the advisory and business-building side of wealth management. You won't just be an employee; you will be the architect of a core firm competency, with a clear and defined path toward firm leadership, P&L responsibility, and potential equity ownership.

Primary Responsibilities & Strategic Impact

• Lead Tax Strategy. You will design and implement proactive, sophisticated tax mitigation strategies for the firm’s clients, working shoulder-to-shoulder with the advisory team to deliver integrated financial plans.
• Build the Tax Practice. You will architect the firm's tax service delivery model, from technology selection (Holistiplan, etc.) to workflow design, creating a scalable and profitable new division.
• Serve as the In-House Expert. You will prepare and review individual and business tax returns (1040s, 1120s, 1065s) while serving as the primary tax advisor for our client base.
• Drive Firm Growth. You will play a key role in strategic initiatives, including evaluating and integrating potential acquisitions of local CPA firms to accelerate growth.

Qualifications

• Required. Bachelor's or Master's in Accounting. Actively pursuing CPA licensure, or currently a licensed CPA. 3-5+ years of meaningful tax preparation and planning experience. An active Life & Health Insurance License (or the ability to obtain it immediately).
• Preferred. An active CPA license. Experience in a wealth management setting. Familiarity with Minnesota and Wisconsin state tax rules. Interest in pursuing Series 65 or CFP® designations over time.
