Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation/review of state tax returns, including apportionment workpapers and computation of blended rate.
  • Gather data for income tax return preparation and other reporting requirements.
  • Prepare federal and state extensions.
  • Assist in quarterly provisions and estimated tax payments calculations.
  • Assist in calculations of book/tax differences for return-to-provision adjustments.
  • Maintain GAAP and tax depreciation books.
  • Review tax authority correspondence and stay updated on tax law changes.
  • Research technical issues and present conclusions to management.
  • Drive continuous process improvement and meet deadlines with quality results.

Job description

Tang Industries, Inc. (“TII”) is a privately held, family-owned global holding company headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada, with interests in metal processing, energy, real estate, pharmaceuticals, and other business sectors. The TII group manages a diversified portfolio of wholly owned operating companies, strategic joint ventures, and financial investments.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation/review of combined and separate state tax returns, including apportionment workpaper creation/review, computation of blended state tax rate, trend analysis, etc.
  • Gather data for income tax return preparation & other reporting requirements, as necessary.
  • Prepare federal and state extensions.
  • Assist in the calculation and preparation/review of quarterly provisions and estimated tax payments.
  • Assist in the calculation/review of return to provision adjustments.
  • Assist in calculations of book/tax differences required for completion of tax returns.
  • Maintain GAAP and tax depreciation books.
  • Sales/use tax, GST/HST/PST tax, and property tax reporting and audit defense.
  • Review, research and assist with correspondence from taxing authorities.
  • Stay abreast of the latest changes in tax law and implement these changes into the workpapers to facilitate preparation of return and provision process.
  • Research technical issues as needed and present conclusions to management.
  • Continuous process improvement through recommending and implementing efficiencies.
  • Effectively manage multiple priorities to meet stated deadlines while delivering quality results
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • 3-5 year(s) of partnership and corporate income tax experience.
  • CPA certification is required.
  • Use of various tax software applications such as OneSource, Corptax, ProSystems fx, Sage FAS, etc.
  • Experience in deferred tax accounting and knowledge of US GAAP disclosure requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and accounting systems.
  • Operates with unquestioned integrity.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong technical knowledge related to the preparation and review of US federal and state income tax returns.
