Role Description The Senior Tax Accountant is a full-time, hybrid role based in Chattanooga, TN. This role is responsible for preparing and reviewing individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. The Senior Tax Accountant will collaborate with colleagues on client engagements, assist in resolving tax notices and audits, and help maintain accurate workpapers and documentation. The role also involves mentoring junior staff, contributing to process improvements, and staying current on changes in tax laws and accounting standards.

Qualifications

• Strong tax expertise, including tax preparation, tax compliance, and broad tax knowledge.
• Experience preparing complex returns and managing multiple client engagements in a public accounting setting.
• Advanced Excel and tax software skills; familiarity with common accounting and practice management tools.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to clients and colleagues.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA license or progress toward licensure strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of an on-site team, exercising sound professional judgment.
