Job summary

Reliable Robotics seeks a Systems Safety Engineer to expand safety-critical flight systems in a fast‑growing startup environment. You will architect safety frameworks, generate FHAs and safety assessments, and coordinate with design and verification teams to certify autonomous aviation systems.

The role can be remote or based at our Mountain View facility in California, with travel up to 10%. A strong background in aerospace safety and ARP standards is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree of Science or Engineering in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related discipline.
• 10+ years of safety engineering on aerospace systems.
• Demonstrated self starter with the ability to solve problems from first principles.
• Ability to work well independently and cross-functionally across multiple organizations.

Responsibilities

• Apply systems safety methodologies as defined by industry standards.
• Develop new processes / methodologies used to certify autonomous / remote operations.
• Perform safety activities coordinating with design, development and verification of aviation systems, generating safety artifacts (FHAs & Safety Assessments) and related analyses.
• Support flight operations with safety of flight assessments for experimental operations.
