Job summary

Quanta Manufacturing Fremont is seeking a Systems Administrator II to support infrastructure across the campus, including on-prem and cloud environments. You will manage network devices, perform system updates, and collaborate with vendors and internal teams to ensure reliable IT services.

The role requires strong experience in networking, security, and Microsoft 365 administration, with a focus on Windows Server 2019 and hybrid/cloud technologies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in networking and security fundamentals.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office365 environments (Exchange, OneDrive/SharePoint, Teams).
• Experience with Azure administration (a plus).
• Proficiency with Windows Server 2019 installation and management on physical and virtual platforms.
• Broad technical background across networking, systems, infrastructure, cloud technologies, and IT support.
• Strong PC hardware and software troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Resolve system-related issues in a timely manner.
• Install software updates and patches on workstations and servers.
• Maintain an automated reboot schedule and run weekly updates.
• Align technology changes with organizational expectations and communicate proactively to users.
• Identify and implement improvements to processes, network delivery, and system solutions.
• Keep up to date with current networking, systems, and security issues.
• Maintain anti-virus software and respond to malware outbreaks.
• Serve as primary sys admin and networking resource, driving automation, security, auditing, and installation.
• Communicate quickly and effectively to resolve issues and provide urgent support.
• Use active listening to understand customer needs and recommend solutions.
• Work with third-party vendors and oversee projects such as new office builds and directory restructuring.
• Enter requests into the ticketing system for reporting, alerting, and escalation.
• Collaborate with the IT team and provide coverage as needed.
• Lead networking and sys admin functions across sites, directing and mentoring.
• Document procedures and keep documentation accessible.
• Be available off-hours for maintenance and emergencies.
• Provide on-call remote support during non-business hours and weekends.
