This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week.

What you will do:

  • Identify and evaluate potential partners in the fields of HVAC, data center management, and advanced system modeling.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including technology providers, research institutions, and industry organizations.
  • Collaborate with SME’s and external partners to develop and implement advanced HVAC system and data center solutions.
  • Participate in partnership agreements to ensure mutual benefits and alignment with company goals.
  • Participate in long term technology roadmap development discussions and help build new external partnerships for Trane Technologies.
  • Lead the evaluation of new and innovative technologies as they appear for potential commercial value, either as disruptive competition or prospective new products or services for the company.
  • Develop and communicate clear understanding of customer requirements and meet or exceed those expectations.
  • Conceptualize and develop project ideas leading to new advanced capability development in related domain areas to keep Trane Technologies at the leading edge of technology.
  • Network across the organization and externally to identify and communicate opportunities to apply system modeling and simulation to product design, applications and processes.
  • Overnight Travel - approximately 10%.

What you will bring:

  • Master's Degree in Engineering equivalentand at least 3 years of modeling and/orsimulation experience is required.
  • PhD with an emphasis in Thermodynamics/HVAC/Controls is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, data center modeling, advanced control systems, and advanced system modeling.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink or Modelica based system modeling for at least 1 year is required.
  • Familiarity with data science, predictive modeling, and surrogate modeling techniques is a plus.
  • Experience and familiarity working in a research-oriented environment preferred.
  • Experience with Data Center technologies, particularly in the areas of liquid cooling, waste heat recovery, and Data Center controls, is highly desirable.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and industrial awareness, capable of applying advanced approaches, technologies, and innovations in modeling and simulation for organizational advancement.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have the legal right to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Compensation:

Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
