Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Systems Integration & Test Engineer to join the TFDM program, a FAA NextGen initiative aimed at improving NAS surface and terminal air traffic operations. The role spans physical and virtual labs, remote support, and on-site FAA collaboration to deliver automated testing, interface checkouts, and system integration across complex platforms.

Responsibilities include debugging, test development, and coordinating with FAA personnel, with travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience with 6+ years, or 4+ years with related Master’s.
• Ability to obtain SF-85P Public Trust clearance from the FAA.
• Strong UNIX/Linux experience and troubleshooting of connection/network configurations.
• Expertise in scripting (Python, shell scripting, Bash) for data processing and testing.
• Experience or exposure to AI/ML-enabled systems, automation, or intelligent platforms.
• Experience following a documented Integration and Test Development Process.
• Strong integration skills with hands-on experience integrating large software complex systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interface with internal and external customers.
• Willing to collaborate with FAA customers on sites to build system knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing in Physical and Virtual test labs to ensure readiness for customer execution.
• Execute procedures to verify system configuration and operation in NAS.
• Coordinate activities with FAA and Leidos personnel.
• Debug system level issues and provide detailed data.
• Understand System Level Requirements and perform interface checkouts.
• Guide test team members and align with program milestones.
• Execute commands for remote support staff and resolve issues remotely.
• Analyze issues with Systems Engineering and Software for solutions.
• Develop automated solutions to streamline repetitive tasks.
• Learn TFDM system architecture to support integration and testing.
• Collaborate with TFDM system engineering for test approaches.
• Test at Air Traffic Control Towers when required.
• Coordinate formal test events with customer and QA teams.
• Navigate XML data, troubleshoot network config, JMS, IP issues.
• Use AI-assisted tools to accelerate testing and test creation.
• Integrate services with databases, messaging, and external APIs.
• Demo test execution for FAA acceptance per release.
