Job summary

AtlasBase is seeking a Sr./Staff R&D Systems Integration Scientist to lead the hands-on integration of our CMOS-based enzymatic DNA synthesis platform. You will bridge chemistry, surface science, microfluidics, software automation, and CMOS hardware, driving integration from early research to product-facing stages.

The role requires advanced degrees in related fields with 5–8+ years of industry R&D experience and a track record in translating bio-hardware to scalable platforms.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (Ph.D. or M.S.) in Electrochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Fluidic Engineering, Chemistry, or a closely related discipline.
• 8+ years of industry R&D for Master’s track or 5+ years for Ph.D. track.
• Experience leading assay-to-instrument translation for bio-instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead system integration of CMOS chip-based enzymatic DNA synthesis workflows and related platforms.
• Translate assays to automated synthesis platforms with hardware and software components.
• Perform failure-mode analysis across hardware, fluids, surface chemistry, and electrochemistry.
• Define strategies to maximize robustness, repeatability, and synthesis fidelity.
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to improve prototype testbeds.
