Job summary

Clear Labs in San Carlos, CA, is seeking a Systems Integration Lead to translate benchtop assays into automation-friendly, production-ready processes across the end-to-end NGS diagnostics platform.

You will own labware qualification, drive robustness and guardbanding, and design acceptance criteria while integrating sequencing into oncology workflows with FDA-compliant validation. This hands-on senior role reports to the COO/CSO.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on process/automation engineering or systems integration in regulated diagnostics.
• Translating benchtop assays into automation-friendly, production-ready processes.
• Experience with FDA design-control and 510(k) considerations.
• Oncology diagnostics experience strongly preferred.
• Strong cross-functional communication between bench scientists and engineers.
• Hands-on at-bench work preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own labware selection and robustness testing across the automated platform.
• Redesign benchtop assays into automation-friendly production processes.
• Design and execute acceptance criteria and validation protocols.
• Integrate sequencing into oncology workflows and close off-deck gaps.
• Evaluate and integrate new NGS platforms and library prep chemistries.
• Bridge assay science and automation engineering; document changes for FDA-cleared environment.
• Diligence on sequencer, automation, and reagent vendor partnerships with timelines.
