Job summary

GC2IT is seeking a Senior Systems Integration Engineer to design, modernize, and sustain integrations for a mission-critical identity and mobility platform. You will work across Java microservices, event-driven architectures, edge environments, and AWS cloud deployments to ensure secure, reliable system-to-system integrations.

Qualifications

• Eight or more years of software engineering or systems integration.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java-based distributed services.
• Production experience with API integration and event-driven messaging.
• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, JMS, AMQP, MongoDB, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, or AWS deployments.
• Experience in high-availability, mission-critical, or regulated environments.
• Understanding of authentication, certificate security, schema evolution, and observability.
• Experience modernizing legacy integrations to microservices.
• Ability to collaborate across multiple engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain secure integrations between the platform and third-party systems.
• Modernize legacy integrations into Java-based microservices.
• Build integrations across edge, data center, and AWS deployments.
• Ensure resilience, observability, and low-latency in integration networks.
• Define contracts, schemas, versioning, and testing approaches.
• Troubleshoot issues across application, data, messaging, and network layers.
• Collaborate with software, cloud, network, QA, and security teams.
• Support integrations with identity and verification services and peripherals.
