Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Fire Inspector to inspect, test, and perform minor repairs on fire alarm systems across North and West Louisiana with a focus on Lafayette and surrounding markets. You will mentor entry-level inspectors, ensure compliance with NFPA72, and support public safety through thorough testing and documentation.

Ideal candidates have LASFM and NICET Level I within 12 months, 3+ years ITM experience, and the ability to work in diverse environments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience performing ITM of Fire Alarm/Fire Life Safety Systems.
• Must have a LASFM license.
• Must obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level I within 12 months.
• Ability to work in diverse environments around mechanical/electrical equipment.
• Ability to differentiate wire colors.
• Must be 18+ with valid driver's license; may participate in Siemens fleet vehicle program.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Follow and maintain high inspection schedules; inspect, test, and perform minor repairs on fire alarm equipment per NFPA72 and local codes.
• Document deficiencies, remedies, and review pricing with customers; complete service tickets onsite.
• Maintain complete documentation of tests; generate reports in Siemens tools and upload to city sites.
• Provide operations training to customer personnel on proper system use and inspections.
• Overtime as needed; manage stock, tools, and equipment in vehicles.
• Adhere to safety policies and complete required trainings.

Fire Inspectors

play a vital role in preventing, detecting, and mitigating the impact of fires. You will perform tasks such as minor repairs and visual and functional testing on fire alarm systems in accordance with all national and local standards. In addition to your primary responsibilities, you will also act as a mentor, providing on-the-job training to entry level fire alarm inspectors, fostering a culture of growth and knowledge-sharing within our team. Our fire inspectors significantly contribute to public safety, property protection, and overall emergency preparedness.

As a Fire Inspector, you will:

• Follow and maintain high structured inspection schedules providing inspection, testing, and performing minor service and deficiency repairs for fire alarm equipment to comply with NFPA72 standards as well as state and local codes. Note deficiencies, remedies, and review pricing with customers. Complete service ticket documentation before leaving the customer site. Follow-up on corrective actions
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all tests performed. Generate reports within Siemens tools and upload to city municipality websites
• Provide instructions to customer personnel regarding proper operation and routine inspections. Assist with training
• Work overtime when needed, and maintain stock, tools, and equipment in vehicles
• Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures
• Complete required training and certifications within the time requirements for this role

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience performing Inspections, Testing, and Maintenance (ITM) of Fire Alarm and/or Fire Life Safety Systems
• Must have a LASFM license
• Must obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level I within 12 months
• Ability and willingness to work in a variety of environments in and around mechanical and electrical equipment, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment,working in ducts, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions; use hand tools, laptop (Microsoft proficient), email, smartphone, and tablet; carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 poundsunassisted
• Must be able to differentiate types/colors of wire
• Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements to participate in Siemens' fleet vehicle program
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred
• 5+ years’ experience performing Inspections, Testing, and Maintenance (ITM) of Fire Alarm and/or Fire Life Safety Systems
• Experienced in healthcare facility testing and knowledgeable about Joint Comision Reporting
• Ability to read/understand design and construction documents

The pay range for this position is $45,410 - $77,846 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
