Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Fire Inspector to support our Lenexa, KS branch in a hybrid remote/in-office capacity. You will perform inspections, testing, and minor repairs for fire alarm systems, ensuring compliance with NFPA72 and local codes, while maintaining thorough documentation and reporting.

The role requires ITM experience, ability to work in varied environments around electrical/mechanical equipment, and adherence to safety policies.

Qualifications

• 1+ year ITM experience of Fire Alarm/Fire Life Safety Systems.
• Able to work around mechanical/electrical equipment incl. ladders and outdoor environments.
• Must differentiate wire types/colors.
• Must be 18+ with a valid driver’s license and fleet eligibility.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level II is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Follow inspection schedules and perform testing and minor repairs for fire alarm equipment per NFPA72 and local codes.
• Document tests and generate reports; upload to city municipality portals.
• Provide operation instructions and training to customer personnel.
• Work overtime when needed and maintain stock and tools in vehicles.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Complete required training and certifications within the specified time frames.

Fire Inspectors

As a Fire Inspector, you will:

• Follow and maintain high structured inspection schedules providing inspection, testing, and performing minor service and deficiency repairs for fire alarm equipment to comply with NFPA72 standards as well as state and local codes. Note deficiencies, remedies, and review pricing with customers. Complete service ticket documentation before leaving the customer site. Follow-up on corrective actions
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all tests performed. Generate reports within Siemens tools and upload to city municipality websites
• Provide instructions to customer personnel regarding proper operation and routine inspections. Assist with training
• Work overtime when needed, and maintain stock, tools, and equipment in vehicles
• Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures
• Complete required training and certifications within the time requirements for this role

You will make an impact with these qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• 1+ year of experience performing Inspections, Testing, and Maintenance (ITM) of Fire Alarm and/or Fire Life Safety Systems
• Ability and willingness to work in a variety of environments in and around mechanical and electrical equipment, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment,working in ducts, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions; use hand tools, laptop (Microsoft proficient), email, smartphone, and tablet; carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 poundsunassisted
• Must be able to differentiate types/colors of wire
• Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements to participate in Siemens' fleet vehicle program
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred
• Must obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level II within 12 months
• 3+ years’ experience performing Inspections, Testing, and Maintenance (ITM) of Fire Alarm and/or Fire Life Safety Systems
• Ability to read/understand design and construction documents

The pay range for this position is $39,199 - $67,198 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
