Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Systems Engineering Department Manager M3 to lead a substantial engineering organization in Melbourne, FL. You will drive performance, development, and engagement across sections and contributors, balancing people leadership with technical oversight and program execution.

You will guide workforce planning, resource allocation, and hiring decisions while aligning capabilities with complex program needs to meet cost, schedule, and quality targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline and 9 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 7 years of related engineering experience.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience, including first-level or higher people management leadership.
• Experience in leading, mentoring, and developing multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver complex technical solutions, within cost and schedule constraints, across the engineering lifecycle.
• Demonstrated capability in workforce and resource planning, including allocating resources across programs, managing workloads and priorities, forecasting staffing needs, and executing end-to-end hiring decisions.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and written/oral communication skills, enabling effective engagement with cross-functional stakeholders and customers.
• Experience in adopting and tailoring corporate/sector/industry System Engineering standards, tools, and processes for use on programs.
• Experience managing a systems engineering organization executing MBSE analyses in accordance with SysML standards and best practices.
• Must possess an active DoD Top Secret clearance that is in scope.
