Job summary

RTX seeks a Senior Systems Engineering Manager for strategic defense programs in Richardson, TX. Lead a team of systems engineers to ensure lifecycle rigor and mission-aligned outcomes on DoD programs.

The role requires DoD Secret clearance Day 1 and onsite support in Richardson, TX, with a sign-on bonus eligible. You will drive technical direction, program execution, and staffing decisions, while ensuring compliance with established processes and industry standards.

Qualifications

Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience.
Active and transferable U.S. Government (DoD) Secret Clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance.
U.S. Citizen.
Experience in a project engineering or technical lead role with cost and schedule accountability, including Earned Value Management.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership to a team of systems engineers across the full development lifecycle.
Own engineering execution for scope, schedule, and cost with involvement in planning, EVM, and risk management.
Ensure disciplined use of development processes, lifecycle plans, and tools per industry standards.
Lead, review, and guide proposal and capture activities with credible engineering content.
Manage staffing, performance, and engagement of the engineering team.
