Job summary

Department of Military Affairs in Richmond seeks a Systems Engineer Senior to diagnose, install, and maintain statewide application systems software. You will monitor health, document configurations, and manage backup/recovery for Windows, databases, and apps, while engineering storage infrastructure for IT-supported systems.

Required are Windows/VMware expertise, SharePoint admin experience, strong communication, and the ability to handle multiple projects; Azure and cloud migrations experience

Qualifications

• Solid knowledge of Windows Server, Storage configurations and VMware; administrator experience.
• SharePoint administrator experience.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and resolve complex infrastructure issues.
• Proven experience in Microsoft-based systems administration.
• Knowledge of Windows Server, Microsoft 365, and Azure; hybrid infrastructure.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Understanding of networking concepts; enterprise infrastructure.
• Experience with virtualization and large-scale cloud migrations.
• Industry certifications (Microsoft, Azure, CompTIA) required.
• Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Responds to needs for diagnosis, testing, installation, repair, maintenance, resolution, and upgrade of application systems software statewide.
• Monitors health of application systems on the network and provides documentation of setup configurations.
• Plans and monitors backup and recovery operations for Windows, Database, and Application servers.
• Engineers and maintains storage infrastructure for IT-supported applications and databases.
