Job summary

Salesforce is seeking a on-site Senior Linux/Cloud Infrastructure Engineer in Herndon, VA. You will join a team of engineers supporting US national security customers, deploying infrastructure at scale in specialized cloud environments, with emphasis on CI/CD governance and secure deployment practices.

You will own areas with autonomy, translate constraints into guardrails, and advance automation across infrastructure and pipelines.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Linux engineering experience.
• 3+ years maintaining or patching highly sensitive customer data/environments.
• 3+ years deploying with a CI orchestration service (Jenkins/Spinnaker).
• 3+ years working with AWS.
• 2+ years scripting or programming (Shell, Perl, Python, Ruby, JavaScript, or Go).
• 2+ years deploying distributed applications with containers (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes, EKS).
• Experience developing security and compliance into pipelines (Nice to have).
• Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Graphite, Datadog, CloudWatch, Prometheus, Zabbix) (Nice to have).

Responsibilities

• Distill environmental constraints into practical guardrails for rapid self-service feedback.
• Solve infrastructure problems with code and build compute capacity.
• Automate governance to replace manual processes.
• Advance CI/CD governance with partner teams while maintaining velocity.

• Evaluate new technologies to solve problems.
• Design test and deploy services with forward-thinking approaches.
