Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a senior Technology leader to develop and execute strategic activities impacting the department's direction. You will manage highly complex, high-risk initiatives, deploying and tuning server systems, apps, and infrastructure to ensure reliability and performance.

The role requires strong cross-functional leadership, ability to mentor teams, and the insight to align technology with business objectives. Domestic travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 6+ years in a technical role OR High school Diploma / GED and 9+ years in a technical role.
• Experience in Technology infrastructure, such as Infrastructure, Systems, Databases, or similar
• Experience establishing & maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, in the business community & with vendors.
• Experience identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
• Experience evaluating compatibility of programs with existing communications hardware and software
• Experience mentoring less experienced team members.
• At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.
• At least 3 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross functional team leadership.
• Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Responsibilities

• Develops and executes the strategic activities that impact the critical direction of the Technology work function.
• Leads design and implementation of major components focusing on reliability, performance, security and compliance.
• Leads analysis of technical requirements ensuring availability, latency, scalability and efficiency.
• Designs and deploys software for server systems and infrastructure.
• Builds tools and scripts to resolve problems and to prevent errors.
• Ensures defects are tracked and presented to management with recommendations.
• Responds to and resolves highly complex service problems and conducts performance analysis.
• Interacts with peers and management to share complex information and gain acceptance of new solutions.
• Develops or leads development of technical approaches and tools.
• Has advanced knowledge of systems administration.
• Demonstrates proficiency in the professional function.
• Provides subject matter expertise to business and training as needed.
• Typically assigned to highly strategic initiatives.
