Job summary

Moog Inc. is seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer for the Space & Defense Group in East Aurora, NY.

You will design and develop hydraulic, electro-hydraulic, electro-mechanical, servo-mechanism, and electro-pneumatic test equipment and systems to verify product performance for military, commercial, and space vehicles. You will lead design efforts, develop system requirements, and mentor engineers while coordinating with program teams to meet cost, schedule, and performance goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering.
• 5+ years of relevant technical experience.
• Must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
• Experience with coaching, guiding, training, or providing technical leadership to other engineers is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with internal program teams to design specialized test equipment, systems architecture and interface definition, and requirements validation.
• Lead the design process and provide technical leadership within Moog’s program scope.
• Develop system level requirements, decompose requirements to component levels, and verify the test equipment.
• Design linear/rotary test equipment systems for development and production hardware.
• Use MATLAB/Simulink to construct and exercise system models to predict performance and margins.
• Perform hardware correlation, system integration and verification testing.
• Coordinate and support the assembly of test equipment.
• Mentor younger engineers where appropriate.
