Job summary

Boarhog is seeking a Systems Engineer to support national defense missions by engineering, deploying, and improving SolarWinds monitoring across enterprise datacenters and cloud infrastructure. You will design scalable solutions, work with architects and engineers, and deliver hands-on engineering, documentation, and training.

The role requires on-site collaboration with government stakeholders two days per week, an Active Secret clearance (or higher), and IA/OE certifications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in IS/CS/Engineering.
  • Active Secret-level security clearance or higher.
  • IAT Level II certification with IA/OE requirements.
  • 5+ years designing and implementing monitoring for enterprise datacenters.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, implement, configure, and maintain SolarWinds Orion Platform components (NPM, SAM, NCM, SRM, IPAM, WPM, NTA, VMAN).
  • Engineer scalable monitoring solutions for mid- to enterprise-scale networks and hybrid datacenters.
  • Integrate SolarWinds with Splunk, VMware, Windows Server, Linux and other technologies.
  • Troubleshoot performance and monitoring issues across the enterprise.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, diagrams, solution guidelines, and SOPs.
  • Provide training and hands-on knowledge transfer to operations teams.
  • Serve as SolarWinds SME for monitoring strategy and platform lifecycle.
  • Collaborate on-site with government stakeholders at least two days per week.

Job description

As a Systems Engineer on our team, you will directly support national defense missions by leading the engineering, deployment, and continuous improvement of our SolarWinds network monitoring infrastructure. You will design and evolve enterprise‑scale monitoring solutions, collaborate with architects and engineers across adjacent technologies, and support modernization initiatives in cloud, automation, and datacenter operations.
