The National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) seeks an experienced Systems Engineer to lead and participate in the ALMA Wideband Sensitivity Upgrade program. Based at NRAO HQ in Charlottesville, VA, you will guide requirements, architecture, verification plans and integration across global partners to deliver critical upgrades for millimeter-wave astronomy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physical science, systems engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years as a systems engineer in integrated projects, preferably in scientific R&D.
• Experience with requirements capture, verification/validation plans, lifecycle planning and scheduling.
• Experience across design to operations and working with dispersed teams.

Responsabilités

• Oversee and participate in systems engineering processes across multiple ALMA WSU projects.
• Review and communicate system architecture, requirements, and subsystem designs.
• Develop integration, verification and validation plans and interface control documents.
• Prepare system reviews and manage subsystem design reviews with international partners.
• Guide configuration management, baselining and change/document management.
