Job summary

Collins Aerospace, a leader in advanced aerospace and defense, seeks a Principal Systems Engineer for Applied Signal Technology (AST) in Salt Lake City, UT. You will lead systems engineering across products, collaborate with customers and internal teams, and guide R&D projects at the intersection of RF, antenna systems, and complex signal processing.

The role requires a STEM degree with 8+ years in systems engineering, extensive RF/antenna experience, and an active TS clearance with U.S.

Qualifications

• Requires STEM degree and 8+ years of relevant experience.
• 8 years in Systems Engineering including design, development, and testing of custom hardware and software systems.
• Extensive RF and/or antenna systems development experience.
• Experience with high capacity RF signal tracking systems and multi-antenna systems.
• Experience with the system lifecycle and with systems integration, test execution, and test documentation.
• Experience interacting with development teams and customers.
• Active and transferable TS security clearance and U.S. citizenship.
• Preferred: experience formalizing requirements, writing plans and procedures; Fiber Optics / RF standards; complex comms systems integration and testing; system-level designs; data interfaces; high-speed processing hardware; telecom concepts; bid/proposal experience; scripting; training; TS/SCI with polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Lead and consult on various products and programs, provide systems engineering on both new and existing products, and develop and propose new concepts and solutions to customers.
• Collaborate with customers, program managers, and cross-disciplinary staff to understand objectives and develop solutions.
• Engage in R&D projects advancing technology exploration.
• Contribute to concept development, engineering design, integration and evaluation, and operations and maintenance of complex systems.
• Interact with customers to define solutions and act as liaison within the company.
