Job summary

Raytheon in Montgomery, AL seeks a highly skilled system administrator to perform multidisciplinary research and support for fielded software systems. You will interface with customers, resolve issues, and ensure standards are met across hardware and software components.

Required are 5 years in Unix/Linux environments, a relevant degree or higher, and an active SECRET clearance. The role may include CONUS/OCONUS assignments and on-site work in the United States.

Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience in Linux/Unix system administration or development/support.
• Experience performing complex troubleshooting and analysis to correct system discrepancies.
• Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience, or an Advanced Degree with related experience.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued SECRET clearance is required; U.S. citizenship required.
• May require short-term assignments to CONUS and OCONUS locations for operational support.

Responsibilities

• Conduct multidisciplinary research with equipment designers for fielded software.
• Identify root causes and design or coordinate fixes with engineers.
• Interface with customers to address short- and long-term requirements.
• Analyze system capabilities to meet program intents and data acquisition needs.
• Ensure hardware and software standards are met.
• Develop and coordinate plans to meet customer requirements.
• Analyze system performance against technical requirements.
• Research hardware/software improvements and recommendations.
• Design LAN/WAN configurations to support site needs.
• Troubleshoot program-specific hardware, software and procedures.
