Job summary

BairesDev, a global technology leader, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to design, optimize, and maintain high-performance data pipelines for large-scale datasets. You will work remotely with a diverse team and leverage Python and C++ to improve concurrency, memory safety, and I/O performance.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of experience, strong debugging and profiling skills, and cloud familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP, plus Arrow/Parquet expertise.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in concurrent systems and large-scale data processing.
• Advanced proficiency in Python (multiprocessing, threading, shared_memory).
• Strong experience with modern C++ (C++17+).
• Advanced knowledge in IPC and shared memory (shm_open, mmap).
• 3+ years of cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with Arrow/Parquet and pyarrow/numpy.
• Proficient with debugging and profiling tools such as perf, valgrind, gdb/llbd, sanitizers.
• Strong memory management, zero-copy, and alignment understanding.
• Experience with observability tools like Prometheus / OpenTelemetry.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize large-scale data processing systems with Python and C++.
• Improve pipelines using Arrow/Parquet for zero-copy and efficient IO.
• Build, profile, and debug using gdb, valgrind, perf, and sanitizers.
